30 Year Long Ownership Problems Of Gebze Are Being Solved

Urban renewal project covering the 181 ha area which has a population of 24.338 and 4.493 buildings and is comprised of 4 neighborhoods located in Gebze district of Kocaeli province has been started.
The main goal of the “2B” law legislated on 2012 is to renew and develop urban areas with a vision by solving the ownership conflicts. Gebze’s urban renewal Project has also been initiated on 23.02.2017 in this framework and the works including the identification of right of ownership, negotiations with locals, analytical and feasibility studies have been conducted. An online tracking system has been established for locals and property owners within scope of this project. The tracking system which can be accessed by the citizens to follow the renewal process and their own information was introduced with participation of the Mayor of Kocaeli, Vice Mayor and neighborhood representatives.
Wishes and expectations of the locals have been noted while conducting works like the identification of right of ownership, feasibility and physical analyses.
